Rural Needs Bill: Consideration of Committee Report
The Chairperson (Mr Irwin): I remind members that the Committee considered and agreed each section of the draft report on the Rural Needs Bill at last week's meeting. However, on Thursday last week, the Executive met but did not consider the amendments to clause 1 of the Bill that require Executive approval. The Consideration Stage is provisionally scheduled for Monday 15 February, and the deadline of amendments will be before 9.30 am on Wednesday 10 February. Are members content to revisit the situation at the meeting on Tuesday 9 February?
Members indicated assent.
The Chairperson (Mr Irwin): I advise members that the report has been revised to reflect those developments. I refer members to the changes in paragraph 5 of the report on page 19.
The Committee Clerk: I need to remove the last line of paragraph 5. That is the amendment. We have not got that.
The Chairperson (Mr Irwin): OK, members. Is that clear? Are members content with paragraph 5, as amended?
The Chairperson (Mr Irwin): I advise members that the report also needs to contain a relevant extract from the minutes of today's meeting. Can I seek agreement for the inclusion of today's minutes in the report prior to members having sight of them?
The Chairperson (Mr Irwin): I will put the Question: does the Committee for Agriculture and Rural Development order the Rural Needs Bill report (NIA 288/11-16) to be printed?
