Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance and Personnel to detail (i) the costs of processing payments for domestic rates by credit or debit card; (ii) how much a customer is charged per transaction; and (iii) for what purposes any profit is used.

Answer:

The LPS staff costs for processing a card payment is £1.30. This is an approximate figure based on the average time taken to process a card payment.

Customers are charged 2% of the transaction amount for credit card transactions. There are no customer charges for other types of card payments.

There is no profit made by Land & Property Services from the charge.
