To ask the Minister for Regional Development to detail the total budget allocation for gritting in winter 2014/15; and how this compares with 2013/14.

Answer:

The total budget allocation for TransportNI’s winter service programme for the 2013/14 season was £6.2 million. This figure includes all aspects of the winter service provision, including snow clearance and the provision and maintenance of salt bins and grit piles.
