Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to outline (i) what measures are in place; and (ii) what work has been implemented to tackle loneliness.

Answer:
My Department’s Arms Length Bodies, Libraries NI and National Museums NI, provide a range of programmes which help combat loneliness and social isolation. In addition, Departmental officials are currently preparing a scoping study on loneliness. As loneliness is a cross-cutting issue, input to the study will be sought from other Departments. When the study is finalised, I will consider its findings in the context of the Department’s future work in relation to this issue.
