To ask the Minister of Education to outline the timescale for the full implementation of the Addressing Bullying in Schools Act 2016.

Answer:

Following concerns raised by the teaching unions, the Department agreed to a temporary pause in the planned implementation of the Addressing Bullying in Schools Act (NI) 2016 (‘the Act’) to facilitate further meaningful dialogue.

While I am unable to confirm an exact date for implementation of the Act, I can assure you that the Department remains committed to bringing this Act into operation as soon as possible.
