To ask the Minister of Health how many menopause specialists there are in each of the Health and Social Care Trusts.

Information provided by Health and Social Care (HSC) Trusts on the number of menopause specialists is detailed in the table below.
HSC Trust
Menopause Specialists
Belfast
1 (0.217 WTE) consultant & 1 (0.425 WTE) associate specialist
Northern
There is 1 WTE consultant who has a special interest in menopause services but is not specifically employed as a menopause specialist
South Eastern
While there are gynaecologists in the Trust with an interest in menopause, none are specifically employed as menopause specialists
Southern
1 consultant - 2 sessions (4 hours each) per month
Western
Women with menopausal conditions are seen at general gynaecology clinics by any of the 15 obstetric and gynaecology consultants (15 WTE) within the Trust.  If, on consultation, women are identified as a complex case they are referred by the consultant to a Regional Menopausal Clinic in Belfast
