Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on progress in developing both phases of the Ballyclare relief road.

Answer:
Construction of the Ballyclare Relief Road is being carried out by a private developer with works being progressed in accordance with the two planning approvals covering the extent of the scheme.
The southern phase extends from the recently constructed roundabout on the A57 Templepatrick Road to the B95 Doagh Road. These works are progressing well on site with the new roundabout on the Doagh Road nearing completion. Construction of the new bridge over the Six Mile Water River is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2021 and it is hoped this section of road will open to traffic in December 2021.
The northern phase, which extends from the B95 Doagh Road to the B94 Rashee Road, was granted planning permission in June 2021. My officials advise that work on this phase began in September with the developer indicating that completion is expected in autumn 2022.
