Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs whether all articles under the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive apply to Northern Ireland.

Answer:

The NI Protocol agreement limits the elements of the EU Single-Use Plastic Directive that the UK Government are required to introduce. The UK Government is required to transpose into Northern Ireland legislation Articles 2-7, 14 and 17 of the EU Directive.

As I explained in my answer to you in AQW 28142/17-22, I have written to the Defra Secretary of State, George Eustice to ask for a timetable of their transposition plans but I have not yet received a response.
