Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to outline what information his Department holds on the difference in overall grocery prices between Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Answer:
The Department for the Economy purchases grocery category prices for Northern Ireland and Great Britain produced by the retail analysts Kantar.
Kantar monitors the prices of items purchased by a panel of shoppers in NI and GB and uses these prices to create an average/composite price per pack for certain grocery categories. They also produce an average total grocery price, which refers to all grocery items purchased in a given period and is a combination of all categories.
