Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure (i) for an update on the Enniskillen Southern Bypass; and (ii) when he expects the construction to commence.

Answer:

I recognise that the Enniskillen Bypass scheme is of significant importance to the town of Enniskillen and the surrounding area.

The decision to proceed and statutory orders for the scheme were made in 2021. Site clearance and fencing works commenced in January 2022, and are now substantially complete. NIE diversionary works are also scheduled to commence during the summer months.

While I remain committed to such schemes, the refusal of the DUP to form an Executive means a three year budget cannot be agreed which makes it extremely difficult for my Department to plan future investment.
