Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy (i) what action his Department has taken to promote Northern Ireland's position in having access to both UK and EU Markets; and (ii) how many companies have cited this as a reason for investing in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

(i) Northern Ireland is a great place to work and do business because of our key strengths including a talented and loyal workforce, advanced telecoms infrastructure, a pro-business environment, and competitive operating costs. My Department, along with Invest NI, continues to promote this message around the world. The detail of the messaging used to promote investment in NI is tailored to the interests of the particular companies and investors involved.

(ii) Businesses express a range of reasons for investing in NI, including for our key strengths set out above. Investment discussions are commercially sensitive therefore I am not in a position to disclose the specific content of individual discussions.
