Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on plans to alleviate traffic flow issues in the Larne West area.

Answer:
My Department currently has no traffic management schemes planned for the Larne West area and has ensured that all housing developments (both constructed and proposed) in the Larne West area have satisfactory access to the public road network.
In the case of the most recent planning application for an additional 500 houses, the applicant was required to complete a Transport Assessment which took account of the missing link at Larne Road West, and highlighted the requirement to provide road infrastructure improvements, such as the provision of traffic signals at the junction of Donaghy’s Lane with Antiville Road. These improvements are conditioned as part of the approval of that application.
