Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy what guidance has been given to haulage companies bringing privately bought goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland in relation to the obligation to request EORI numbers from the buyer.

Answer:
The Trader Support Service (TSS) provides functionality via the TSS portal that permits hauliers to act as the importer and use their EORI to move privately bought goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland. There is no requirement for a buyer to provide an EORI number where the end user is a private citizen.
TSS has shared guidance on this process directly with hauliers. Hauliers which have not received guidance should contact the TSS Helpline or raise a case via the TSS Portal.
