To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail the steps he is taking to relay to the Westminster government and EU the views of Northern Irish business groups and owners regarding the best way to resolve the issues around the NI Protocol.

Answer:

My officials have regular contact with NI businesses and business representative groups to understand the issues they are facing around the NI Protocol. I have consistently escalated these concerns directly to UK Government Ministers to ensure NI’s trading relationships with the rest of the UK and with the EU are well considered.

It is the responsibility of the UK Government to negotiate with the EU.
