Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to confirm how many EU acts, containing provision which rests within devolved competence of his Department, were included in the Annexes to the Northern Ireland Protocol on (i) 1 January 2021; and (ii) 1 September 2022.

Answer:

My Department’s internal assessment of provisions resting within the devolved competence of my Department at 1 January 2021 is 52 of which 49 are devolved and three are partially devolved.

The EU legislation Information Tracking System (EULITS) which will track and monitor all legislation that falls within the scope of the Protocol is not yet operational. Once the system is active, we will be in a position to provide numbers of EU laws in force as at 1st September 2022.
