Motion TitleTriggering of Article 16

Motion TextThat this Assembly is resolutely opposed to the triggering of Article 16 of the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland by the British Government; recognises that the majority of people believe that the British Government is not justified in this type of action; acknowledges that businesses support the mitigations provided by the Protocol; notes that business leaders and workers' organisations want solutions, where needed, to make the Protocol work smoothly; and calls on the British government to engage meaningfully with the European Union to find solutions to ensure that the Protocol works effectively to provide certainty, stability and prosperity for business, workers and families.
