To ask the Minister for Regional Development for his assessment of how the funding allocation for the A5 scheme will impact upon structural maintenance elsewhere.

Answer:

The budget for period 2011/12 to 2014/15 was announced to the Assembly by the Minister for Finance and Personnel on 4 March 2011. The structural maintenance budget is currently held by my Department’s Roads Service is that allocated to it centrally by the Department of Finance and Personnel following the Budget 2010 settlement. Progression of the A5 scheme does not necessarily impact on Roads Service’s structural maintenance budget.
