Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to provide a detailed breakdown for each primary and preparatory school of (i) the number and percentage of P7 pupils to sit the Transfer Test, and (ii) the percentage of pupils attending the school who are in receipt of free school meals, for the academic year 2007/2008.

Answer:

No detailed data regarding the current Transfer Test are available until the process has been completed and the results issued to the Education and Library Boards. Currently we can only provide data on the total pupils entered for Paper 1 for the 2007/08 academic year, but not broken down by individual school.

Free school meal entitlement data for each primary and preparatory school for the 2007/2008 academic year are also unavailable. These data are currently being collected and will be subject to a validation process that will involve the Education and Library Boards. These data should be available in December 2007.
