To ask the Minister for Regional Development to outline the action that his Department has taken to avert the train strike on 24 June 2013.

Answer:

Industrial Relations issues are the responsibility of Translink as the employer. I can advise you that Translink has kept me informed of developments as this issue has progressed. I was aware that both Translink and the Labour Relations Agency have offered to meet the union representing the employees concerned. I would hope that this offer can be taken up as soon as possible if this has not already happened.
