Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance and Personnel when a final decision on the Northern Ireland Civil Service equal pay settlement will be made.

Answer:

It was clearly established in court that there is no legal equal pay liability within the PSNI or the NIO. Nevertheless I am mindful of the strength of feeling on this issue and am continuing to explore ways in which the moral argument could be recognised in some way. I have spoken to the Minister of Justice and am consulting with officials to investigate if there are any possible solutions to the issue that could be considered by the Northern Ireland Executive.
