To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to outline the nature of any recent communication with the Commissioner for Older People in respect of extending age discrimination legislation to the provision of goods, facilities and services.

Answer:

Junior Ministers met the Chief Executive of the Commissioner for Older People on 16 December 2014 to discuss the Programme for Government commitment to extend age discrimination legislation to the provision of goods, facilities and services. On foot of this meeting, the Commissioner for Older People wrote to Junior Ministers on 15 and 30 January 2015 seeking further clarification on how this Programme for Commitment would be delivered.
