Question:
To ask the Minister for Social Development for an update on his Department's Empty Homes Strategy in East Londonderry.

Answer:

Within the constituency of East Londonderry, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s Empty Homes Unit has had 38 empty properties reported to it from April 2014 to January 2015. 25 of these are located in the Coleraine council area and 13 in the wider Limavady council area. 19 of the reported properties are in areas where there is no housing need.

The Department will continue to work with the Housing Executive across a number of initiatives to assist in bringing empty homes back into use.
