Question:
To ask the Minister for Social Development how he is supporting organisations and their employees who are put on protective notice pending the outcome of the Neighbourhood Renewal 2015/16 Application Process.

Answer:

The process of assessing applications on the basis of evidence of need and impact of each project is currently ongoing for the 2015/2016 period. Throughout this process, officials are seeking to protect those projects which demonstrate most effectively that they are meeting the objectives of the programme and organisations are being kept informed of developments.

However, it should be noted that any decision to place staff on protective notice rests with the funded organisation that is the employer and as such assumes all statutory employment responsibilities for their employees.
