To ask the Minister of Finance and Personnel whether he plans to extend the Small Business Rate Relief for small Post Offices beyond 1 April 2015.

Answer:

Last year the Small Business Rate Relief scheme (SBRR) was evaluated by the NI Centre for Economic Policy (NICEP). Their report recommended phasing out the SBRR but retaining it in its current form this financial year. I have since agreed to follow this recommendation and the scheme has subsequently been extended for a further year until 31 March 2016 with the same NAV thresholds and % allowances for both the main scheme and the post office enhancement.
