Question:
To ask the Minister for Regional Development to outline Translink’s position on relaying track on the Dargan Viaduct, during the York Street Interchange project.

Answer:

Translink is currently engaging with my Department’s Transport NI York Street Interchange Project Team to co-ordinate the design and construction of essential enabling works to the Dargan Viaduct piers and foundations in order to facilitate future dualling of the section between Yorkgate and Donegall Quay.

It is hoped to bring forward a Business Case in 2016/17 for these enabling works to coincide with the York Street Interchange project schedule. The scheme will be dependent on funding availability within the next Comprehensive Spending Review period.

There are no plans to relay the track this year or next.
