Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety to detail the savings from the rejection of the NHS Pay Review Body’s 1 per cent pay uplift recommendation for 2014/2015; and for a breakdown of how this money had been invested in Health and Social Care.

Answer:
The decision not to implement the NHS Pay Review Body’s recommendation for 2014/15 had the effect of reducing the pressures on the HSC pay bill by an estimated £12 million and hence contributed to the reduction in the Department's overall forecast funding gap in 2014/15.
