Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety for his assessment of the current level of unpaid hours worked by Health and Social Care staff, as unpaid overtime; and what consideration has been given to quantifying and providing payment for this work.

Answer:
The current level of unpaid hours worked by Health and Social Care staff, as unpaid overtime, is not collated centrally by individual HSC Employers and is therefore unknown.
Part 2 Section 3 of the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions of Service provides for additional hours worked to be accumulated as time off in lieu (TOIL) and converted to payment if TOIL is not able to be taken within a reasonable timeframe, normally 3 months.
