To ask the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, pursuant to AQW 45433/11-15, what consideration his Department has given to the impact on older people in the Claudy area following cuts to the Meals on Wheels service.

Answer:

The Western Health and Social Care Trust has advised that it is currently reviewing its community meals service. As I indicated in my response to AQW 45433/11-15, the review will include an assessment of whether the proposed changes will impact differently or unfairly on different groups of individuals, including those who live within the rural parts of the Trust’s geographical area.
