Question: To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister for an update on revenue and capital project funding in the northern zone, through the Social Investment Fund; and to detail the projected timeline for the full implementation of the Social Investment Fund.
Answer:
Six projects are being taken forward in the Northern Zone. They are as follows. Coleraine Rural and Urban Network (CRUN) (revenue) and Fuel Poverty (capital) had funding of £0.46 million and £1.83 million respectively, committed in 2014. CRUN has contractors on site. A Letter of Offer has issued to Community Capacity Hubs (capital) for £1.13 million and to Employment through Education (revenue) for £3.54 million. Capacity for Health (revenue) and Access to Employment and Health (revenue) are estimated at £1.7 million and £0.8 million respectively. These figures are approximate as both projects are currently going through the internal approvals process. We expect that all SIF projects will commence by 2016/17 with associated expenditure likely to run into 2019/20.
