Question: To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister (i) to detail what proportion of the £80 Million allocation for the Social Investment Fund remains unspent; and (ii) whether the Social Investment Fund is on track to achieve its objectives.
Answer:
Forty two projects have been approved to date with associated costs of around £58 million across all nine Social Investment Zones. The remaining £22 million will be allocated to projects, subject to the necessary approvals. An outcome based monitoring and evaluation framework is in place with population based indicators relating to the four strategic objectives of the social investment fund being monitored on an annual basis. Project level performance measures are and will be monitored on a quarterly basis to ensure that projects are meeting their anticipated outcomes. As projects which have commenced are at a very early stage it is not feasible as yet to assess to what extent objectives are being met.
