Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety for an update on the (i) the community Meals on Wheels service in all Health and Social Care Trusts; and (ii) implementation of the proposed changes within the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

Answer:

All HSC Trusts continue to provide a community meals service to service users who have no other means of providing their own meals. The South Eastern HSC Trust introduced a new cook chilled service in October 2015.

The Western HSC Trust is currently reviewing its community meals service and is exploring options for delivery with guidance from dietetics and food standards professionals. It is aiming to have new arrangements in place by July 2016.
