To ask the Minister for Social Development whether his Department intends to reassess claimants with lifetime Disability Living Allowance awards when transitioning to Personal Independence Payments.

Answer:

Personal Independence Payment will replace Disability Living Allowance for working age claimants (age 16 – 64). All existing working age claimants with an indefinite (lifetime) award of Disability Living Allowance will be reassessed for Personal Independence Payment over a period of time.
