To ask the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety to detail (i) the number of permanent consultant posts that have been created in the Causeway Hospital since May 2015; and (ii) whether the positions for consultant physicians in general medicine, care of the elderly and consultant surgeon have been filled.

Answer:

One permanent full-time consultant general surgeon post has been newly created in the Causeway Hospital since May 2015. The positions for consultant surgeon and consultant in general medicine have been filled. The position for consultant physician in care of the elderly has not been filled.
