Question:
To ask the Minister for Social Development for an update on the programme for regeneration works in Portrush prior to the Open Championship in 2019.

Answer:

My Department has established a programme board to oversee the development and implementation of a number of major infrastructure projects in Portrush. Two of the major capital projects proposed in the programme are a new train station and public realm works throughout the town centre. Subject to funding, it is planned to commence the design process in 2016/17.

A further piece of work to determine options for the development of the harbour is expected to be completed around the end of March 2016.
