Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure when will the commencement order for Review of Old Mineral Permissions be issued.

Answer:

The provisions for the review of old mineral permissions (ROMPs) in the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 were carried forward from the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 and have not been commenced.

At this point in time I have made no decision on the commencement of ROMPs provisions. I have instructed my officials to undertake a priority review of the issues surrounding old mineral permissions and will decide the way forward following consideration of this work.
