Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail (i) the advantages; and (ii) disadvatages of a separate Key Stage Two primary school in delivering social change, such as Strandtown Primary School.

Answer:
As there is only one Key Stage 2 school there is not sufficient data available to the Department of Education to make a valid comparison or to evaluate the advantages or disadvantages of Key Stage 2 schools against Year 1-Year 7 provision.
Local and international evidence suggests that there can be a range of factors which impact on the outcomes for pupils. This includes issues such as pupil ability and motivation; teaching methods; school leadership; and the level of parental involvement.
