To ask the Minister of Justice pursuant to AQW 942/16-21, for an update on the introduction of a domestic violence offenders register.

Answer:

Responses to the consultation on the introduction of a domestic abuse offence and domestic violence disclosure scheme in Northern Ireland have been considered and analysed. A summary report of responses received has been published and is available on the Department’s website:

I remain committed to introducing the new offence and disclosure scheme and am pleased that work is being pro-actively progressed in both areas. The proposal to include offenders of domestic violence in the current notification requirements is being further considered as part of this work programme.
