Question:
To ask the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister what progress has been made in relation to agreeing the memorandum of understanding between the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister and the Sustainable Development Commission, and what are the reasons for the current delay in agreeing this memorandum of understanding.

Answer:

We are in the process of considering a draft Memorandum of Understanding between our Department and the Sustainable Development Commission (SDC). In doing so, we are looking at this in relation to the proposed status change of the SDC from an Advisory to an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body, and any implications that this change may have in terms of governance, legal or financial issues.
