Question:
To ask the Minister of Health what consideration she has giving to expanding the Social Work Incentive Scheme, to include courses taken at the Open University by students resident in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

The Social Work Student Incentive Scheme is available to students domiciled in NI who gain a place on an approved NI Degree in Social Work course. At present, the Degree in Social Work offered by the Open University is not approved and accredited by the NI Social Care Council. The NI Social Care Council is currently considering an application for the approval of the Degree in Social Work from the Open University.
