Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance whether he intends to adopt pay parity with Great Britain as policy across the entire public sector.

Answer:

There are around 120 different staff groups in the public sector, each with their own pay determination processes. I am responsible for setting the overarching public sector pay policy. However, Departments and other public sector employers are responsible for negotiating the individual pay awards for those groups. All of which face different labour market issues.
