Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether he has any plans to address congestion and road safety issues with the Minister for Infrastructure around Castlerock Road, Coleraine, considering the expected increase in the schools’ population following the full implementation of the area plan.

Answer:

I am aware of the implications for traffic management around Castlerock Road, Coleraine following the implementation of the area plan. While I have had no direct discussions with the Minister for Infrastructure on traffic issues in the area, my officials and the Department’s technical advisers have been working with various stakeholders and the planning authorities to seek to mitigate additional congestion and road safety issues around Loreto College and Coleraine Grammar School.
