Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister what plans she has to implement the gender pay provisions in the Employment Act (NI) 2016.

Answer:

Policy responsibility for gender matters rests with the Department for Communities following departmental reorganisation in 2016. The timing of the Employment Act did not allow for the allocation of the gender pay provisions to the Department for Communities. Officials are currently working towards bringing forward a Transfer of Functions Order to the Assembly in the Autumn that will transfer responsibility for the gender pay provisions to the Department for Communities.
