Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to outline (i) the recruitment process for appointing the three Commissioners for Ministerial Standards; (ii) when the Commissioner role specification will be published; and (iii) how they will ensure the process is transparent.

Answer:

While preparations were under way for a public appointments competition for members of the proposed Panel for Ministerial Standards, you will be aware that the Assembly passed the Functioning of Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, which is now law and confers statutory authority on the Assembly Commissioner for Standards to investigate complaints about Ministerial conduct. Any future developments in the matter of complaints against Ministerial conduct will be considered in the context of this development
