Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy what financial provision she plans to provide in 2020/21 and 2021/22 to address the climate and biodiversity crisis.

Answer:

The Department is represented at official level on the Future Generations group under the chairmanship of Minister Poots in the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to consider how the Executive can respond across all areas of devolved responsibility to the issues associated with climate change. I anticipate that a plan will be brought before the Executive in due course with proposals for appropriate funding to address the issues and the opportunities to tackle the challenges as provided for in the New Decade New Approach proposals.
