Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail his proposals to meet the April 2021 target established in New Decade, New Approach for waiting lists.

Answer:

Achievement of the New Decade, New Approach commitment on waiting times is dependent on additional investment. Once the amount of additional funding available in 2020/21 is confirmed, an action plan will be developed to ensure that available capacity is maximised to reduce waiting times.

The scale at which I will be able to tackle the unacceptable waiting times will be greatly influenced by the outcome of the current budgetary discussions.
