Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to outline the timetable under which legislation to ban smoking in cars when children are present will be brought forward for approval by the Assembly.

Answer:

Draft regulations to prohibit smoking in private vehicles carrying children were consulted on in 2017 but were unable to be progressed in the absence of an Executive and Assembly. Officials are currently revisiting the regulations and I expect those to be presented to me soon.
