Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (i) at what stage of the Executive’s Coronavirus recovery strategy can country sports, such as angling, resume; and (ii) whether he plans to publish guidance on this issue.

Answer:

I reopened the Public Angling Estate on 18 June. Angling can resume, so long as social distancing can be maintained and that there is no shared contact with hard surfaces.

I have issued guidance for anglers on the NI Direct websites. Guidance on other country sports does not fall under my remit.
