Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update of the status of the Research Report commissioned in 2018 by the Inter-Departmental Working Group into Mother and Baby Homes and the Magdalene Laundries.

Answer:

The commissioned research into the operation of Mother and Baby Homes and Magdalene Laundries has been completed, received by my Department and considered by the Inter Departmental Working Group on Mother and Baby Homes, Magdalene Laundries and Historical Clerical Child Abuse. The research will now be subject to a process of Maxwellisation. When complete, it will be amended if necessary and submitted to the Northern Ireland Executive with options on the way forward.
