Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether she will consider bidding for capital funding to support local councils for the installation of new bus shelters.

Answer:

My Department works closely with Translink on capital planning and securing capital funding for bus shelters across the North. This year, I have provided funding of £300,000 to Translink for the refurbishment and erection of new bus shelters.

The Executive has initiated a Comprehensive Spending Review, which promises a 4 year capital funding envelope for my Department. I will then be assessing the pressures across my Department reflecting my priorities, the commitments in "New Decade: New Approach" and the budget made available.
