To ask the Minister for Communities whether she will include a review of Carers' Allowance in the review of Welfare Mitigations, with a view to increasing the allowance and amending entry criteria to allow carers who are in employment the ability to access support.

Answer:

My Department is not yet in a position to provide details of the specific issues that will be covered in the forthcoming review of welfare mitigations. However, I expect that the review will consider the current levels of financial support currently available to carers in the social security system.
